Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions constitute a legally binding contract between the renter and BeRent Cyprus. By completing a booking — online or in person — you confirm that you have read, understood, and unconditionally agreed to all terms below. BeRent Cyprus reserves the right to refuse service to any person who does not agree to these terms.

WARNING — Northern Cyprus (Turkish Territory)

Driving to Northern Cyprus (Turkish-administered territory) is strictly forbidden. The vehicle is not insured in Northern Cyprus. Any violation will be treated as vehicle theft and will result in immediate contract termination.

1. What's Included in Your Rate

All rates are quoted in Euro and include unlimited mileage with a same-to-same fuel policy. Rates include all local taxes (VAT), 24-hour breakdown assistance, collision damage waiver (CDW), and third-party liability insurance. A delivery fee of €25 per leg applies for airport pickups (Larnaca LCA, Paphos PFO) and deliveries to cities outside Limassol. Delivery is complimentary when your pre-delivery subtotal exceeds €300. All quoted prices are subject to change until a booking is confirmed with payment. BeRent Cyprus reserves the right to adjust pricing due to currency fluctuations, regulatory changes, or extraordinary costs.

Optional Extras (daily fee)

Baby seat 0–3 yrs (€3/day) · Child seat 3–12 yrs (€3/day) · Additional driver (€10/day) · Young Driver Surcharge under 23 yrs (€25/day + €1,500 fixed excess) · Out-of-hours service 20:00–08:00 (from €7 per leg, based on vehicle category)

2. Driver Requirements

All drivers must be aged 23–70 and hold a valid driving licence for a minimum of 3 years. EU licences are accepted; non-EU licences require an International Driving Permit. Only drivers listed on the rental agreement may operate the vehicle. Drivers under 23 years old are subject to a surcharge of €25 per day and a fixed excess of €1,500 which cannot be waived under any insurance tier. BeRent Cyprus reserves the right to refuse or immediately terminate a rental if any driver appears physically or mentally impaired, unable to produce a valid licence, or poses a risk to vehicle safety. The renter is fully and personally liable for all losses, damages, and third-party claims arising from any unlisted driver operating the vehicle, including complete loss of insurance cover and the full cost of any damage.

3. Insurance & Liability

All insurance cover — CDW and third-party liability — is immediately and fully void if: the driver is under the influence of alcohol (above Cyprus legal limit of 0.5‰), drugs, or prescription medication that impairs driving; the vehicle is driven on unpaved, off-road, or restricted-access terrain; the vehicle exits the Republic of Cyprus without prior written authorisation from BeRent Cyprus; an unlisted or unauthorised driver is behind the wheel; the vehicle is used for any commercial purpose (ride-sharing, taxi, courier, delivery); the vehicle is used in a racing, speed-testing, or motorsport event; or the vehicle is used in connection with any illegal activity. In all such cases the renter bears full and unlimited personal liability for all damage, loss, and third-party claims. In the event of any accident, damage, theft, or incident, the renter must: immediately call BeRent Cyprus at 77778107; not move the vehicle unless required for immediate safety; obtain a police report (required by Cypriot law for all accidents); and submit a full written incident report to BeRent Cyprus within 24 hours. Failure to follow this procedure voids all insurance cover and the renter becomes personally liable for all costs. BeRent Cyprus reserves the right to charge the full cost of repairs, including parts, labour, vehicle storage, transportation, and loss of rental income during the repair period, against the renter's credit card.

Excess liability: Economy €1,000 · Standard €1,500 · SUV/Luxury €2,000. A security deposit of €500–€1,000 is pre-authorised on your credit card at vehicle pickup and released within 15 working days of a clean return. BeRent Cyprus reserves the right to convert any portion or all of the pre-authorisation to a real charge at any time within 180 days of the return date if damage, fines, or other outstanding amounts are identified. The renter may not withhold, dispute, or instruct their bank to block this charge while a legitimate claim is under review.

4. Prohibited Use & Vehicle Care

The vehicle must be used only on paved public roads within the Republic of Cyprus. The following are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination of the rental and full personal liability: smoking, vaping, or using any tobacco/cannabis products inside the vehicle (minimum cleaning fee: €200); transporting animals without a certified protective cover or crate (minimum cleaning fee: €100); towing any trailer, caravan, or other vehicle; overloading beyond the vehicle's manufacturer-rated capacity; carrying hazardous, flammable, explosive, or illegal materials; sub-renting or lending the vehicle to any unlisted driver; travelling outside Cyprus. The renter is responsible for daily checks of tyre pressure and fluid levels during multi-week rentals and must report any warning light or mechanical issue immediately. A same-to-same fuel policy applies — returning with a lower fuel level incurs a refuelling charge at €2.50/litre plus a €25 service fee. Lost, stolen, or damaged keys: replacement cost €200–€600 depending on vehicle. Vehicle abandoned without prior notice: €300 recovery and abandonment fee plus full daily rental charges until recovered, with all legal remedies reserved. You are solely responsible for all traffic fines, parking violations, toll charges, and enforcement costs. A handling fee of €25 applies per fine processed by BeRent Cyprus, in addition to the full fine amount. Unpaid charges 7 days after notification will be charged directly to your credit card and/or referred to legal proceedings.

5. Pickups & Returns

Our base is in Limassol (no delivery charge within the city). Airport meet-and-greet is available at Larnaca Airport (LCA) and Paphos Airport (PFO). Delivery to Nicosia and Ayia Napa is also available. All out-of-Limassol deliveries are charged at €25 per leg, waived if your pre-delivery subtotal exceeds €300. The renter must be present at the agreed pickup time with a valid driving licence, the credit card used for booking, and a passport or national ID. If the renter fails to appear within 60 minutes of the scheduled pickup without prior notice, the booking is treated as a no-show and is non-refundable. The vehicle must be returned to the exact agreed location in the same condition as received, with the same fuel level. Late returns: €7/hour (standard) or €14/hour (premium) — after 3 hours late, a full additional day rate applies. BeRent Cyprus will not accept a returned vehicle that is damaged, excessively dirty, or missing any accessories without a formal damage assessment and additional charge.

6. Cancellation & No-Show Policy

Full payment bookings: free cancellation up to 48 hours before pickup; a cancellation fee equal to 2 rental days applies within 48 hours of pickup; no refund within 24 hours. Deposit (30%) bookings: free cancellation up to 72 hours before pickup; full deposit forfeited within 72 hours; no refund within 24 hours. Crypto payments: strictly non-refundable under any circumstances, including flight delays, illness, or government travel restrictions. No-shows (failure to collect the vehicle within 60 minutes of the scheduled pickup without prior written notice) are non-refundable in full, regardless of payment method. No refund is issued for: unused rental days; early returns; personal schedule changes; flight cancellations; or any circumstance outside BeRent Cyprus's control. BeRent Cyprus accepts no liability for cancellations or delays caused by mechanical failure, accidents involving other renters, force majeure events (natural disaster, war, government restrictions, pandemic, or similar). In such cases, BeRent Cyprus may, at its sole discretion, offer a credit note valid for 12 months.

7. Handling Fees, Chargebacks & Legal Action

A handling fee of €25 applies to each damage report, traffic fine, toll charge, legal document, or any other charge not resolved by the renter within 7 days of written notification. CHARGEBACK POLICY: Initiating a credit card chargeback or payment dispute for any legitimate rental charge — without first submitting a formal written dispute to BeRent Cyprus — constitutes a material breach of this contract. BeRent Cyprus will contest all chargebacks with full documentary evidence and will charge an additional €150 administrative fee per contested chargeback, recoverable as a civil debt. BeRent Cyprus reserves the right to pursue civil and criminal legal action against any renter for: unpaid charges; vehicle damage; key loss; fuel theft; breach of prohibited-use restrictions; fraudulent misrepresentation; or any other breach of these terms. By accepting these terms you authorise BeRent Cyprus to share your personal details, booking records, and any relevant documentation with credit reference agencies, debt collection services, law enforcement authorities, or legal representatives, if required to recover outstanding amounts or enforce these terms.

8. Security Deposit & Irrevocable Payment Authorisation

At vehicle pickup, BeRent Cyprus will pre-authorise a security deposit on the credit card presented: Economy vehicles €500 · Standard vehicles €750 · SUV/Premium/Luxury vehicles €1,000. This pre-authorisation is released within 15 working days of a clean return with no outstanding issues. By completing a booking and accepting these terms, you grant BeRent Cyprus an irrevocable, unconditional, and continuing authorisation to charge the credit card on file — or any other payment method provided — for any of the following, at any time within 180 days of the return date: vehicle damage assessed during or after return; unpaid traffic fines or toll charges notified after return; fuel deficiency; smoking or pet contamination cleaning fees; key or accessory replacement; towing, recovery, or storage costs; late return fees; abandonment fees; or any other outstanding amount under these terms. BeRent Cyprus is under no obligation to obtain further consent before making such a charge, provided a written notification is sent to your registered email. This authorisation survives the end of the rental period and cannot be withdrawn while any claim remains unresolved.

9. Territorial Restrictions & Vehicle Use Outside Cyprus

IMPORTANT: All vehicles may only be operated within the government-controlled areas of the Republic of Cyprus. Crossing into Northern Cyprus (the Turkish-occupied area) via the Green Line or any other crossing point is strictly and absolutely prohibited. Northern Cyprus is not recognised as part of the Republic of Cyprus and is treated in law as a foreign territory. There is NO insurance coverage of any kind in Northern Cyprus — neither CDW nor third-party liability. Any vehicle taken into Northern Cyprus is considered to have been misappropriated (stolen) by the renter. BeRent Cyprus will immediately file a criminal complaint for vehicle theft with the Cyprus Police upon any confirmed crossing. The renter will be held personally liable for: the full replacement value of the vehicle; all recovery costs including cross-border retrieval; all legal fees and penalties in any jurisdiction; any damage incurred; and loss of rental income for the full recovery period. No refund of any amount will be issued. The full security deposit will be charged immediately. BeRent Cyprus uses GPS tracking to monitor vehicle location in real time. Any movement toward or across the Green Line triggers an immediate alert and automatic rental termination.

10. Governing Law, Jurisdiction & Limitation of Liability

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Cyprus. Any dispute, claim, or legal proceedings arising from or relating to these terms or any rental agreement shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the District Courts of Limassol, Cyprus. By completing a booking, the renter irrevocably and unconditionally submits to this jurisdiction and waives any objection to proceedings in those courts. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law: BeRent Cyprus shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the rental; BeRent Cyprus's total aggregate liability to a renter shall not exceed the total rental fee paid for that booking; BeRent Cyprus is not responsible for personal belongings left in vehicles (items held 14 days then discarded); BeRent Cyprus accepts no liability for loss of earnings, missed flights, or consequential travel disruption. These terms constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersede all prior discussions, representations, or agreements. If any provision is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in full force.

11. GPS Tracking & Real-Time Monitoring

All BeRent Cyprus vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking devices that continuously monitor location, speed, and movement 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. By accepting these Terms, the renter explicitly and irrevocably consents to this monitoring for the entire duration of the rental period. If a GPS alert is triggered — including but not limited to: unauthorised territorial crossing (including Northern Cyprus), excessive speeding, use of the vehicle outside agreed hours or locations, or any other breach of these Terms — the rental agreement shall be deemed immediately and irrevocably terminated at the moment the alert is received by BeRent Cyprus. Upon such termination: no refund of any amount, including the security deposit or any pre-paid rental fees, will be issued; BeRent Cyprus reserves the right to remotely disable or recover the vehicle immediately and without prior notice; the renter remains fully liable for all costs incurred as a result of the breach, including recovery expenses, legal fees, and loss of rental income.
